Hello!  I’m Kristin, the owner of KD Vocational Services LLC.  Every career journey is unique and valuable. I’d like to share with you more information about mine:

I began my professional journey as an educator, fueled by a passion for helping others learn and grow. Eventually I had to make a decision that many parents are faced with when they have children—what is the best scenario for our family?  I left the field of education and spent a decade caring for and raising my children.

When my youngest child began attending school I knew that I wanted to return to work, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do!  I found myself at the fork in the road, and could have used some career guidance, especially considering the significant gap in my employment history.

I embarked on a journey of research and self-discovery. It was during this time that I discovered the field of rehabilitation counseling and began graduate school.  After graduating with a newfound expertise but no work history in my new field, I faced the daunting challenge of entering a second career. With a decade-long work gap, I created my own job search strategy that ended with me working as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for a state agency.  While there I discovered a passion for employment services and I then managed a private vocational rehabilitation firm.  In 2015 I founded my own company specializing in employment services with a mission to provide guidance, support, and clarity to individuals facing the challenges of career change and job search.

My personal journey has equipped me with a unique perspective and expertise to guide you through your own career challenges.  I have been at the fork in the road with no clear path in sight.  I have overcome a significant work gap.  Over the years, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work with many individuals on their career journeys who had a variety of work histories and chosen career fields including: Education, Law, Manufacturing, Administrative and Clerical, First Responders, Management/ Supervision, Food Service, Hospitality, Human Resources, and many more.  I look forward to speaking with you and discussing how I can support you on your career journey!
